We are sensitive to the fact that whilst many Primary teachers would like to incorporate music in their curriculum, it can often be difficult to know where to start, or they may not have the confidence to deliver a dedicated music lesson without intensive planning and preparation. They are intended for primary teachers to either use as a stand-alone music program, or as an extension resource for use along with other music activities within the classroom setting. These videos are aligned with the NSW and National music curriculums.

MusicNow videos are presented in an engaging manner, using song, story and movement to provoke each child to grow in confidence in their ability to make music, knowing that singing is the foundation of musical learning.
The late music educator Richard Gill’s universal message was that “Music education does not just make children more musical; it unleashes their creative powers.”

If given encouragement and clear instruction, all children can make music! This assists in building confidence and a positive mindset.

Plus, teachers can sing along too!

Our program follows a sequential path through singing and ‘doing’, focussing on developing aural skills through songs, rhymes, games, movement and rhythmic activities to embed music theory and learning. Children are given the building blocks they need to start building their own musical repertoire!

Each educational experience is aligned and referenced to the Australian National ACARA and NSW music standards and includes teacher notes and curriculum suggestions for extension to other KLA’s.

‘As someone with no musical talent, I am in awe of how Ruth and Lanneke inspire students in my Year 1 class. They sing, tap, and groove to the beat, and I love the way the musical themes are repeated to reinforce their musical knowledge. Thank you – all I have to do is enjoy the show!’  Tim – Year 1 Teacher, Sydney
